Benefits of OBIEE
(Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition)

Below is a transcript of a portion of a North Texas Hyperion User Group Conference workshop led by consultants form US-Analytics. US-Analytics IT infrastructure experts discuss Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) and answer questions from the audience.

"Here are some of the benefits of OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition). Because it is architecturally designed from the bottom up instead of the top down one of the key benefits is that you’re able to pull data across from any data sources. Once you bring that data into your actual OBIEE model you’re able to model it once, deploy everywhere because it is 100 percent thin client, there is no thick client. You can use any time of web client so you only have to model it once and you’re able to give access to everyone.

"Consistent definition of business measures, metrics and calculations. It is consistent because it is in one centralized location. There is not one server doing one thing, or another here or there. It is all within this semantic layer, it’s where it is built. Then you have the presentation layer, which is role based views of information. Not everybody needs to see the same data, based on whatever permissions you set for groups the users can see that particular information."
