Below is a transcript of a portion of a North Texas Hyperion User Group Conference workshop led by consultants form US-Analytics. US-Analytics IT infrastructure experts discuss Oracle Hyperion Workforce Planning and answer questions from the audience.



"What happens when your project is done? This is something you should all be concerned with. Because when we walk out of your office, you’re alone. So what is your Hyperion support path? Can you call your consultant? Is your consultant still there to support you (provide Hyperion support)? I have lots of customers that email me all the time. they all understand I’m billable, so I can’t just tell a customer “no, I'm gonna help this guy”. I can respond pretty quickly, there’s always lunch. How are they gonna support you; can you get their email, can you get their phone number? Are they gonna help you? Can you get blocks of hours for complex issues? Because how many times have you had where something went down, you’re nervous because CFO is going to get mad, you really need this fix, Hyperion support isn’t being that helpful. It’d be nice to call my consultant and have him help me with this, have web-x and just fix it. Does the consultant provide blocks of hours to for that?

"With US-Analytics you can buy block hours. So say you had one of my best guys, Brandon, at your site – you like Brandon a lot, he’s great, he knows your stuff, you want his help. If you have a block of hours some left over in the SOW or whatever, call him up you don’t have to mess with anything, he can help you out right there; web-x in and fix your problem, help you out and make life a lot better.


"What about after hours support and weekends? Is that available? What are you going to do if after hours or on weekends things explode? Because after hours for most people might not be after hours for you. You might have somebody in Asia that’s working right now, and that’s pretty important. And obviously there’s Oracle IT support; they have multiple tiers and are they going to help you when you need and are you satisfied with the help they are providing right now."
