"There are multiple things that you can do from this screen. I’m going to right click on the employee, and it comes up with that little menu again, and you can transfer in and transfer out. The way Hyperion Workforce Planning works, there’s two ways to transfer: you can do it a two-step process or one-step process. The one-step process, the user has access to both cost center and entity combinations, so it’s a security issue. At CompuCom they chose not to give everybody access to everything, because when you have access to everything you see everybody’s salaries. So they chose to do a two-step, so one person transfers them out of their cost center, and then one person would transfer them in to their cost center."

"For a t-shirt can anybody tell me the risk with that two-step approach?

"Exactly,  you can end up with a stranded employee where they get transfer out of a dept, but don’t get transferred in, so the question is Karen how do you resolve that with Workforce?"

"There is a reconciliation you can run in Hyperion Workforce Planning that comes with it, and we ran it many times because it happened a lot. In training we talked about communication between cost centers owners, but you can catch it, but you have to run a report and then his boss has to call everybody.

"The biggest reason we did it that way was because not everybody owns both sides of the transaction. So they have to pick up the phone and talk to each other and work with each other to decide how they are going to finish the transaction.
