The Wall Street Journal: Outdoor Ads Move to Gas Pump, Trucks

DALLAS (Reuters) -- The nearly $5 billion U.S. outdoor advertising industry is hitting the road in earnest, hoping to persuade marketers to pay for time at gasoline pumps and space on the sides of thousands of mobile billboards on trucks.

BillBoard Video Inc. of Frisco, Texas, is offering wireless distribution of television commercials displayed on gasoline pumps. Taking the low-tech route, Transport Media Network LLC, of Madison, Wis., has signed an agreement with J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. to place huge ads on the side of Hunt's fleet of more than 10,500 trucks and 43,000 trailers and containers.
