BorderCOMM, parent company of XC Networks, announced a partnership with Protel today by taking a 50% stake in an International Telecommunications fiber crossing connecting Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and Laredo, Texas.
BorderComm, parent company of XC Networks, announced today that it has acquired a 50% interest in an international fiber crossing connecting Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico with Laredo, Texas. This transaction includes two communication centers on each side of the border. This fiber infrastructure connecting the United States with Mexico allows BorderCOMM and XC Networks to begin serving the Laredo communities. In addition, XC Networks can now deliver gigabit cross border transport service to our enterprise and carrier clients.
"Our partner in this new venture is Protel, who is one of the only independent telecommunications fiber providers in Mexico with national reach," commented Thomas Spackman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BorderCOMM L.P. and its operating subsidiaries including XC Networks.
The network is currently in operation; however, the facilities and network designs are insufficient and we will allocate human and financial resources to make this a world class facility capable of meeting the capacity demands of our current and future customers. I ask that we all be diligent in bringing world class operations to this important network.
We believe this transaction is an important step in becoming the leading niche telecommunication provider in the Southwest United States and Northern Regions of Mexico.
