YawpBox co-founder Anthony Bruster was raised in the West Texas town of Abilene. After obtaining both his business and law degrees from Baylor University, Bruster joined the nationally recognized law firm of Nix, Patterson & Roach, LLP. This East Texas-based law practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, which includes primarily patents and copyrights. The brainchild behind YawpBox, Bruster first came up with this innovative social network concept after overhearing a couple discussing an interesting and unique experience from one of their vacations. Bruster was left wondering, “I wonder who else has done that?” It was at that point that he came up with the idea to implement an online social network where people were regularly prompted to openly share their unique life experiences. After sharing the idea with his longtime friend Jay, the Yawpbox concept was birthed to reality. Bruster has a strong commitment to the community and serves on the board of directors for Young Life-Texarkana and for the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Bruster, his wife, and two kids reside in Texarkana and are active members of the First Baptist Church of Texarkana. Bruster is also an outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, snow skiing, scuba diving, and anything fun that makes for a “YawpBox” moment!
