Adventures and Activities
The itinerary for this African DreamTrip includes incredible opportunities to explore some of Kenya's most impressive natural areas. You'll travel from Nairobi to Kenya's fertile highgrounds and travel down the Rift Escarpment on the way to Masai Mara National Reserve. You'll travel across the Valley to Narok, viewing acres of barley and wheat. An afternoon game drive provides your first glimpse of wildlife at Masai Mara.
Masai Mara National Reserve is characterized by big skies and open savannahs, and you'll view a huge variety of birds and game on early morning and afternoon drives here. Some of the game you're likely to see include wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, impala, and Thomson's gazelle. You may also spot hyenas, cheetahs, leopards, lions and jackals, all in their natural environment. You may even spot the shy and somewhat elusive black rhino. There are dozens of birds of all shapes and sizes to see, including large species such as storks, eagles and vultures.
Your African DreamTrip also includes a visit to Lake Nakuru and a game drive at Nakuru National Park. Here you'll see a seemingly endless array of pink flamingos, white pelicans and snorting hippos in an incredibly picturesque setting. Among other species, Lake Nakuru National Park is home to black and white rhinos, impalas, waterbucks, lions, leopards, Grants gazelles and some very large python snakes in the dense woodlands.
Traveling to Amboseli National Park at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, you'll enjoy spectacular scenery and magnificent views. As you ride across the top of the Rift Valley Escarpment, you can view the Great Rift Valley from above, including dormant Longonot volcano. You'll also travel across Kenya's highlands and the Athi Plains.
At Amboseli National Park, you'll see elephants roaming across the grasslands with snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro in the distance. Buffalo, zebra, giraffes, warthog, wildebeest and impala are some of the wildlife you'll spot on game drives here. Lions, leopards, cheetah, hyenas and serval cats are some of the carnivores that reside at the park. There are many interesting birds to spot here as well including eagles, bee-eaters, kingfishers and pelicans among others.
