What Color is Your Dream? – The Exhibit offers its viewers a delightful tour through the joy of creation! Swirling with color, texture, innovation , powerful images and music, The Exhibit is playful, practical and meaningful to all who enter.
The art pieces are representations by 10 notable artisans who interpret the images found in What Color is Your Dream?, a new book written and illustrated by Dallas artist, Kittie Nesius Beletic … “Following the life of a dream, readers are given permission to explore the adventurous and unpredictable journey presented by our thoughts and ideas. “ (Kittie Beletic)
Among the artists exhibiting are:
Erin McSweeney – mixed-media, 3-dimensional sculpture
Mary Westfall – stained-glass, photography
Sally Cobaugh – textile, tapestry
Ken Johnston – Collage
Jan Belcher – Abstract canvas panels in Acrylics
Mari Hidalgo – Fashion design sculpture
Barbara Mason – Intaglio Solar Prints
David Powers, Milo Deering, Kittie Beletic – animated short video with original score
Kittie Beletic – textile “interactive”
The combined artistic efforts by these seasoned artists illustrates the infinite combinations available to artists, innovators and those who might dare to turn their daily lives into artistic creations!
The Exhibit opening reception is November 17, 2007 from 7-10pm and is open to the public. The artists will be attending and welcome
questions/discussion about the creative process!
A special invitation is open to schools or groups interested in scheduling viewings November 19, 20 and 21. Ms. Beletic is offering an autographed copy of her book to the libraries of schools who schedule a tour. She will speak to students and group participants about designing and following their dreams!
