David Ritter joined the popular retail Web-based company ShopLocal in its infancy and helped it grow and evolve to serve some of the country's largest retailers with a network of more than 200 sites connecting consumers with retailers both online and in-store. During his tenure at ShopLocal, Ritter has become experienced in several integral aspects of a Web-focused company. As a business analyst, he has defined new functionality and focused development efforts. As research analyst, he has provided information about and analyses of the ShopLocal sites and their users. And as a database developer, he has helped to create and support new functionality.
Before joining ShopLocal, Ritter served as an analyst at Circuit City Stores, Inc. In this post, he created new store replenishment algorithms that maintained in-stock rates while reducing inventory investment, and modeled demand to determine pricing structures.
Ritter earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Virginia, and a master’s degree in economics from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ritter was also diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1987, and has been active with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the Diabetes Exercise and Sports Association.
