In addition to his position with the Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship, Richard Scruggs is a principal with Winston Sage Partners, a management consulting company. At Winston Sage, he helps manage the company’s investments in operating companies and provides consulting services to its clients.

Prior to starting Winston Sage, Scruggs spent more than 20 years in the systems integration business. He was the founder, CEO, and chairman of Align Solutions Corp. one of the first Internet professional services firms. In 1999 Align was recognized as the fastest growing private company in the Houston area and Scruggs was honored as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Align Solutions was bought by Luminant Worldwide Corp. and Scruggs helped take the company public, serving as vice-chairman and executive vice president for two years.

Scruggs has experience in all aspects of business operations including executive leadership, sales, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, and client service. He serves on the board of directors for the Houston Technology Center and the Houston Angel Network. Scruggs earned a bachelor’s of science degree in chemical engineering and a master’s of business administration from Texas A&M University.
